Belarus -The ruins of the castle of Kosava are referred to as a knight’s dream. It used to be a grandiose neo-gothic palace erected at the home town of Andrzej Tadeusz Bonawentura Kościuszko (1746-1817) — a national hero of Poland, Belarus, and Lithuania, general and a leader of 1794 uprising (which bears his name) against the Russian Empire.
Belarus -Mir castle Mir was first mentioned in the chronicles of 1345. The ancient castle, founded at the beginning of the 16th century by Prince Juri Il'jinic. The castle became the possession of M.Radzivil-Sirotka in 1569. Monumental and unassailable, the castle remained the symbol of strength and power over several centuries.
