Burnley's Panopticon, 'Singing Ringing Tree', is a unique musical sculpture which overlooks Burnley from its position high above the town on Crown Point. Constructed from pipes of galvanised steel stacked in layers, this Panopticon takes the form of a tree bending to the winds and harnesses the energy of those winds to produce a low, tuneful song. In June 2007, Singing Ringing Tree was named winner of a National Award for architectural excellence by the Royal Institute of British Architects…

Passageway

Passageway in the caves of Oregon Caves National Park. And yes, this actually is a color picture instead of B&W. Just got the Nikon D7000 this spring and I have to admit that the quality difference to my old D50 is amazing in situations like these. In my opinion the picture sharpness is still ok, when you consider that it's been taken with iso 4000 and with free hand (altough with help of my friend's shoulder).
