Hexagonal tiles add a lot of whimsy & playfulness to this mostly monotone brown kitchen. The tiles' different prints in black, breaks the color up, and balances the visual effect. More importantly, the tiles can withstand water spillage in that area, more than wood can. The black color is also echoed in the equally whimsical chandelier, the appliances & the countertop. What could have been boring was remedied by the tiles & the chandelier. #mixedflooring
