HIEROGLYPHICS: A Hieroglyph (Greek for "sacred carving") is a character of any logographic or partly logographic writing system. Early hieroglyphs were logograms representing words using graphical figures such as animals. The oldest hieroglyphs are believed by many to have been made in Mesopotamia; where the original cuneiform was proto-cuneiform and originally a PICTOGRAPHIC form.
