Existing Home Sales and Freddie Mac - Despite setbacks, there is hope for buyers
Existing home sales notched another gain in March, but at a pace of 5.6 million sales, fell short of last year’s figure (5.67 million) as limited inventory and rising prices force buyers to adjust shopping plans.
Home prices continue to go up. Based on sales prices from January, February, and March Case Shiller estimates that prices rose 6.5 percent nationally from a year ago, while the 10-city and 20-city indices were up 6.5 and 6.8 percent, respectively. Case Shiller - Prices Accelerate in Many Markets
Home prices continue to go up. Based on sales prices from January, February, and March Case Shiller estimates that prices rose 6.5 percent nationally from a year ago, while the 10-city and 20-city indices were up 6.5 and 6.8 percent, respectively.

The end of April signals peak home-buying season in many markets around the country, and our data says that’s particularly true this year, in what is now the hottest spring housing market on record.
Treasury rates dropped dramatically lower this week as Italian political turmoil caused investors to prefer Treasury investments. Yields dropped to as low as 2.77 percent on Tuesday—30 basis points from one week prior. Also today, pending home sales moved lower in April as pending sales in all regions. Freddie Mac Rates Ease and Pending Home Sales Move Lower
Treasury rates dropped dramatically lower this week as Italian political turmoil caused investors to prefer Treasury investments. Yields dropped to as low as 2.77 percent on Tuesday—30 basis points from one week prior. Also today, pending home sales moved lower in April as pending sales in all regions.

Job Report – Wages growing, still slower than home prices
