Classroom Tour 2010-2011
When I went into my room over break, I finally did something I had meant to do for a long time... take pictures. My room is a portable with no storage and I also share the space with another teacher who teaches half day with me, but needs to store her stuff here as well. I have tried to make use of every square inch of this room. Here is the view from the door. You can see the small group u-table and the writing wall straight ahead. This is also from the front door, looking slightly right at…

Bucket Chairs and Fab Finds!
Hi all, I'm going to do a two-for-one linky party post- part Made-It-Monday, part Fab-Find-Friday. Made-It #1: I've been using these Ugly-But-Functional Lowes buckets for small group seating for the past two years- they're great because they have no legs (they can't get tangled together!) and they're really easy to put up for vacuuming. Also, if necessary, you can cram more kids in at the table on buckets than on big, cumbersome chairs. Anyway, my friend at work saw the bucket-seat idea and…

Upcycled Container Gardens, Planters and Vases
DIYNetwork.com has unique ideas for turning vintage items and salvaged materials into container gardens and flower pots.
Home made upside down tomato planter- brilliant! My brother came up with this idea. Dollar Tree plastic buckets with a hole cut into the bottom, filled with tomato plant and soil, then a bucket top (3 for $1 at the Dollar Tree) with small holes for air. Hang using cord or wire and there ya go! These are nearly double the size of the inground plant that was planted at the same time!
