행��복의 시작2_58.5x58.5cm_장지에 석채 이에 이르면 야생화, 혹은 이름 모를 들꽃들은 그저 소재의 차원을 넘어 또 다른 의미로 읽혀진다. 그것은 어쩌면 인간의 삶에 대한 작가의 그윽한 관조가 이러한 소재들을 통해 발현되고 있는 것은 아닌가 생각된다. 그것은 바로 생명, 혹은 생명 현상에 대한 작가의 내밀한 사유는 비록 작고 미미한 존재라 할지라도 응당 지녀야 할 생명으로서의 존엄과 가치에 대한 확인이며, 이는 결국 인간과 그 삶에 대한 건강한 인식의 표현이다. 물론 화훼를 작업의 주제로 하는 작가들은 적지 않다. 더불어 야생화, 혹은 들꽃들을 전문적으로 그리는 이들 역시 적지 않다. 그러나 작가의 경우 기능적인 표현이나 조형적인 성취의 내용에서 벗어나 화면 전반에서 전해지는 풋풋하고 정갈하며 다감한 감성은 작가의 작업이 그저 소재주의적 차원에 머무는 것이 아님을 느끼게 한다. 이름 모를 들꽃들은 어쩌면 작가를 비롯한 오늘을 사는 보통 사람들의 또 다른 초상일지도 모른다.
