FDR is also well known for being the only president that was physically disabled. He was paralyzed from the waist down and confined to a wheel-chair for most of his adult life. This was a fact he hid from the People, so not to appear weak. Many believe his disability was due to Polio, but medical scientists now are uncertain if this was the cause. Polio is typically a disease one has in their childhood.
