JACOB KRAMER (Ukraine 1892-1962 England), Portrait of a Young Woman, o/c. Kramer came to England in 1900, settling in the Jewish colony in Leeds. Initially studying at Leeds School of Art, he continued his tuition at the Slade School in London (1913-14). Although influenced by the vorticists and other contemporary movements, Kramer never succumbed completely to them and his lifelong interest was in portraiture. Sold through Christies, 2008.
