Project Thirty-Three

The seemingly infinite number of vintage record jackets that convey their message with simple shapes like the dot never cease to amaze and amuse us. Project Thirty-Three is a shrine to these dots along with their less jovial but equally effective cousins, squares, rectangles and triangles, and the designers that make them come to life. Other galleries include arrows, abstract shapes, typography-only and Command Records. Check back soon as we’ll be adding covers regularly.

The Crome Syrcus - Love Cycle (1968) Following a series of obscure singles for Northwestern labels, 1968 found the band signed to the ABC affiliated Command label. Teamed with producers Loren Backer, Robert Byrne and Peter Katmins, in terms of musical genres, "Love Cycle" stands as another one of those mid-60s' albums that's been labeled "psych." Unlike some of the competition, beyond the suitably mod cover art, this one actually has some psych touches.
