Rome; Free Art Masterpieces in Churches
There are masterpieces of art and story to be discovered in small churches tucked in quiet piazzas round Rome center, not 100 yards from the Pantheon, which are free. They are San Luigi dei Francesi and Sant'Agostino. Here is my review with their opening times, service times, how to get there and selected list of of my favorite artworks by Caravaggio, Raphael, Domenichino and Baglione. For some down time, drop into Bar Milano across from the church and have a cappuccino and cornetto!
