Zebra (Fibonacci) - Mario Merz

Zebras' stripes represent an example of the presence in nature of the Fibonacci series. This is a 1973 art work by Mario Merz, exposed at the newly opened '900 museum in Milan. Merz used the Fibonacci series as a symbol of vital influx of proliferation and since 1970 it became the main subject of his artistic research, creating one of the strictest relationship between mathemathics and contemporary art.
