Changing Directions, Bodega Bay, Ca
Sometimes, as photographers, and in life, we get so focussed in a certain direction. I have found that sometimes if you stop, take a breath, and look around, you're able to find something really nice, just "out of frame". Cheers. -jared r.
Sunset at Grand Haven
July 8, 2010 My rule about sunsets is this: "If it looks like it's going to be a good sunset one hour before sunset, it won't be." Great sunsets always sneak up on you the last minute. Tonight, the fog lifted just as the sun was setting, and 20 minutes later, the high clouds lit up for about 3 minutes. I used a 3 stop hard edged neutral density filter to hold back the sky. I wouldn't do this crazy if I didn't get a cheap deal - roundtrip LAX-IGU $520 At least the nature just treated me with a very nice sunset. This was from Saturday evening, from…
Clearing Storm Jackson Lake
I shot this image from the shore of Jackson Lake, in Grand Teton National Park, just as a late evening storm had passed at sunset. A long exposure was used to smooth the water and intensify the colorful reflections.
