If you are looking for a great party in the great state of Texas, then look no further than San Antonio’s Fiesta! Fiesta brings the Hispanic culture of Texas into downtown San Antonio. Downtown San Antonio, Republic Of Texas, Texas History, Local History, Loving Texas, Lone Star State, San Jacinto, Texas Hill Country, Country Maps

In 1891, a group of ladies decorated horse-drawn carriages, paraded in front of the Alamo, and pelted each other with flower blossoms. The parade was organized to honor the heroes from the battles of the Alamo and San Jacinto. From this humble beginning was born Fiesta San Antonio, an eleven-day citywide party. The parade known as the Battle of the Flowers is still one of the most popular events.
