Yoga Poses for Kids - Airplane. Fly high and free! The Airplane Pose is a great balancing pose and helps kids develop concentration. This pose strengthens the legs, chest and arms. While doing this pose, think to yourself “I am free.” Imagine soaring through the sky as an airplane.
This week, we go over the Turtle Pose. Inspired by the patient turtle, this pose increases mental focus and stretches the arms, back and legs. This pose looks like a turtle withdrawing into it’s shell!
Tall, grounded and strong - the mighty Tree benefits our world in many ways. The tree is kind to the world, animals and to humans. Through this pose, it is great to teach kids about kindness - how to be kind to others and to the environment. The Tree Pose reminds us that as our roots grow stronger, we are able to stand tall and stretch our branches to the sky.
It has been a while since we shared a kids yoga pose, so this week we present the Deer Pose from our winter workbook. This pose is a variation of the Warrior I pose.
