Pleated Pretty Shirt With Buttons
This t-shirt makeover is inspired by the Nickleby bib top by J Crew and I fell in love with the shirt several months ago.I have been wanting something different rather than ruffle shirt to wear underneath a cardigan, this was a perfect design for that! I finished making this a while ago. I enjoyed wearing it and took some pictures. I am sharing a quick tutorial with you today, enjoy! You will need T-shirt Handkerchief with lace trims (20"x 20"). (Well, that…
Mens Button Down Shirt Refashion – Womens Off the Shoulder Top
Are you inspired by the clothes you see around you? On our recent holidays in France a woman walked past in an off-shoulder top, dip dyed, blue at the top fading to white at the bottom…It looked so chic. My French is not fairly non-existent so I was unable to be cheeky and ask her if I could photograph her top to share with you, you will just have to imagine it!! Naturally, my mind turned to a men’s button down shirt refashion. Charity shops and France do not seem to mix, so I had to p…
Refashion | Men’s Button Up Shirt Into An Off Shoulder Top
The inspiration: An off shoulder striped cotton top with 3/4 sleeves, buttons down the front and a drawstring tie waist. I found this shirt off Ebay. I tried looking in store at the local thrift but didn't have any luck finding a big mens white cotton striped button down shirt. Since I was being pretty specific with what I wanted Ebay made it much easier to find it with all their filters. I actually really like this material, the detail is cute and it was in EUC. A great match.…
Denim Shirt Refashion
I’m always looking for easy to wear wardrobe pieces that can be dressed up or down and the ruffle bottom shirt fits the bill. I’ve been eyeing off some pretty nice ones at Gorman, but at $150 they are a little too pricey for me, especially when I can make one myself in an afternoon. I picked up a nice chambray shirt a few weeks ago at Vinnies for $8 and thought it would be perfect for a refashion session. The shirt was ok, I love the colour and how it fits on top, but the length was…
Men's Shirt To Women's Blouse - Refashion - Sew Historically
I refashioned another men’s shirt! 😀 I cut along the turquoise line and sewed the new side and shoulder seams together. Then I removed the pocket and added darts. Now the shirt fits much better. Instead of self-fabric bias binding, I finished all raw edges (the V-neck and armscyes) with my faux 1920s picot hem. … Continue reading Men’s Shirt To Women’s Blouse – Refashion →

How to Make a Reverse Tie Dye Top
It's getting pretty hard to ignore the tie dye trend right now. Pajama sets! Dresses! Workout clothes! You're sure to find tie dye pretty much everywhere at the moment, and we love this iconic summer print. I mean, any trend that is easy to DIY is sure to be a hit around here. Currently we are seeing a monochromatic version in lots of boutiques that is a little more stylish and grown up, and we've found the best way to achieve a similar look isn't by drenching your chosen clothing item…

The One Hour Dress – Refashion a Shirt & Skirt Into a Dress
I’m so excited that the weather is warming up here in Melbourne after a very long winter. I had a child free hour up my sleeve last night so decided to tackle two projects at once!Clean out my wardrobe and make a new spring dress. Not really as ambitious as it sounds when you throw a little creative wardrobe refashioning in the mix.I’ve had this business shirt in my wardrobe for years, it still fitted well and the fabric is beautiful quality (and was an expensive purchas…
Refashion | Vintage Denim Vest + Floral Fabric
1 Thrifted and Vintage Denim Vest + 2 yards Floral Fabric = 1 Upcycled Maxi Dress! I found this vest at the thrift store while looking for jean jackets to upcycle and embellish. I didn't find any jackets that day and rather than be defeated I swooped this up thinking I could at least use the material. The buttons and darts are so cute though. I had to come up with something. Then I got this floral rayon and the blue of the flowers matched the blue of the denim almost exactly so I…
